Experience in law enforcement

Chuck Rose knows that police have a difficult job, because he used to be a cop.

He served for five years as a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy, with additional experience as a part time officer in Waterman and as a member of the North Central Narcotics Task Force.

"As the only candidate in this race with a law enforcement background, I appreciate the challenges that our police officers face," Rose says. "And I will be prepared to partner with them to efficiently and effectively investigate cases, bring charges and see that criminals face consequences for their actions."

Having worked as both a police officer and a prosecutor, he is uniquely prepared to advise police as they investigate crimes. Also, having testified as an arresting officer on many occasions, he can offer first-hand advice to law enforcement on how to prepare for court and how to testify most effectively. He has already been establishing connections with police departments across the county.

"Over the last several months, I have met with the leadership of every police agency in DeKalb County to learn how the state’s attorney’s office can better collaborate with them to protect the people of DeKalb County," Rose says. "My background, along with the relationships I am already building with police agencies across the county, ensure that I will arrive in office on Day 1 ready to partner with law enforcement as they work to keep our communities great places to live, work and raise a family."
