A lifetime of working to make DeKalb County better

Throughout his more than 30 years living in DeKalb County, Chuck Rose has made serving this community a priority.

“I consider it a privilege to serve my community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so,” Chuck says. “I will bring that same mind set of service to the role of DeKalb County State’s Attorney if elected.”

In addition to his eight years in law enforcement and nearly five years as an assistant state’s attorney in DeKalb County, Chuck has worked with a variety of organizations that serve and protect some of the most vulnerable members of society, including:

  • Elder Care Services – As a board member, Chuck helped protect senior citizens from abuse and neglect, assisted them in finding and coordinating health care assisted them in navigating Medicare and much more.
  • RAMP – As a board member, Chuck advocated for and assisted individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them find services and housing.
  • Youth Service Bureau – As a board memeber, Chuck helped provide services to troubled youths and their families including counseling, treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and parenting classes.
  • DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board – As a board member, and president of the board, Chuck helped direct funding to agencies across the county that serve individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse issues and more.
  • CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) – Chuck provided pro bono legal services to those who advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
  • Hope Haven – Chuck provides pro bono legal services to Hope Haven, representing women and children who are homeless and often victims of abuse.
  • Kishwaukee College Criminal Justice Program – After teaching in the clinic for more than 20 years, Chuck currently sits on the advisory board for the program which prepares students for careers in law enforcement or the court system.
  • Illinois Guardianship Association – Chuck currently sits on the board of this organization, which promotes ethical guardianship services through education, networking and advocacy.
  • Prairie State Legal Services – Working as a pro bono attorney, Chuck provided legal advice and representation to protect the rights and wellbeing of those who cannot afford legal counsel.
  • DeKalb County Regional Board of School Trustees – As an elected member of this board, Chuck helps the county make decisions regarding school district consolidation matters and decide cases where individuals wish to detach from one district and annex into another.
